The world is getting more competitive and we are increasingly aware of the precious environment we live in. So from the perspective of the mining industry, collectively we must strike a realistic balance between resources and economic security.
So what can we do? Increase productivity and reduce operating costs, while still endeavoring where possible to protect the environment!

Yes, I believe we can and with this in mind about seven years ago we started development of our new truck concept, realizing the huge economic potential of using mining trucks that could operate under the most demanding of operating conditions, in both tropical as well as arctic environments.

Since the invention of the large haul truck nothing much has changed, trucks have just got larger to improve productivity but so has the cost of the tyres required which now forms a large percentage of a mine's operating costs.

The first significant change in Rigid Haul Truck design for 50 years !!

ETF has rewritten the book on haul truck design incorporating the payload advantages of a rigid machine with the all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering affording incredible maneuverability of articulated trucks. In the technical design stage we focused heavily on reducing maintenance & repair times, reaching availability as high as 95%. Engines and tyres can be swapped out in fifteen minutes; a complete axle replaced in under forty five. Repairs on ETF trucks are completed using repair tools and methodology designed by us enabling incredibly fast turnaround. While conventional trucks may still be undergoing major repairs and maintenance the ETF truck will have completed the very same repairs and be back in full production in the same time it takes for an operator to take a lunch break.

In order to accommodate demand for higher payloads than even the largest Ultra-class Trucks can provide, future-proof your mining operation by incorporating the unique advantages of the ETF Haul Train.
By linking several independent ETF truck units together the Haul Train can be operated under the same conditions but controlled by just one front operator, the rest of the powered linked units will precisely follow the lead machine fully controlled using the most innovative and technically advanced supervisory system available. Where fully autonomous conventional truck operations requires huge investment in technology and infrastructure, if your mine currently operates conventional trucks of any capacity then the ETF Haul Train can integrate and start moving more material immediately. Of course our trucks are autonomous ready.

There are a whole host of advanced technology incorporated into ETF products designed specifically to reduce costs and pollution to both the land and air, just one example being the unique engine power management system that collectively reduces overall fuel consumption and therefore NOx/CO2 to the lowest levels of any competitive haul truck in its class.

As has been the case with our team of highly experienced designers, mechanical engineers and truck application specialists that have collectively amassed hundreds of years experience in their respective fields; you first need to look at current mining truck designs together with their inherent operating disadvantages. Then, take a different ‘out-of-the-box’ perspective view of what you recognize needs to change in order to move the haul truck into the 21st century, only then you will truly appreciate the total logic of our design.
